LIFTING-LINE THEORY OF SUPERCAVITATING PROPELLERS AT NON-ZERO CAVITATION NUMBERS
Lifting-line theory is developed to estimate the characteristics of a supercavitating propeller at non-zero cavitation numbers. An integral equation is derived for the circulation of the blade element at any radius and its numerical method of solution is proposed. Partial and over characteristics of propeller are obtained and discussed in relation to the cavitation numbers and advance constant. Further, the optimum distribution of circulation is clarified at specified torque and advance constant. The theory is validated by comparisons with experimental data.
