Development of a pilot study for a pavement management system for the metropolitan division of the Main Roads Department, Queensland
This paper describes a pilot study for a pavement management system. In the simple form, the system would assess the condition of any distressed section of road and then provide a priority rating and a recommendation for maintenance/ rehabilitation if required. The condition of the section is defined by the pavement inventory and the pavement condition survey and the assessment is carried out by the maintenance model which is essentially a series of rules designed to evaluate pavement distress.
