NUCLEAR-POWERED DREDGE FOR THE 70'S

Investigation of the feasibility of utilizing a nuclear reactor as the main power source for a pipeline hydraulic dredge with a production capacity of about three times that of conventional pipeline dredges. Emphasis is placed on demonstrating the feasibility by investigating novel maritime nuclear experience and by showing that the engineering demands of a nuclear powered dredge are within the current state-of-the-art. A nuclear powered cutterhead pipeline dredge design is proposed.
