STABILITY OF A RECREATIONAL TRAVEL MODEL

THE RECREATIONAL IMPACT OF MULTI-PURPOSE RESERVOIRS WAS DETERMINED BY USING EQUATIONS AS VARIOUS MODELS TO EVALUATE THE STABILITY OVER TIME IN ORDER TO PREDICT RECREATIONAL TRIPS TO NEW RESERVOIRS. THE PARAMETERS INCLUDE TYPE OF RECREATION, AGE OF POPULATION, ECONOMICS, LOCATIONS OF RECREATIONAL RESOURCES, AREA DEFICIENT IN RECREATIONAL FACILITIES, AND POPULARITY OF RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES. THE NEW RESERVOIR MODEL WAS DEVELOPED BY NON-LINEAR REGRESSION ANALYSIS UTILIZING DISTANCE, POPULATION AND INFLUENCE OF OTHER FACILITIES. THE PREDICTION MODEL, WHICH WAS TO PROVIDE A SIMPLIFIED METHOD FOR ESTIMATING FUTURE TRAFFIC VOLUME, DID NOT PERFORM SATISFACTORILY ACCORDING TO THE AUTHOR. THE TWO MODELS WERE COMPARED AND INTERVIEWS WERE CONDUCTED. GASOLINE CONSUMPTION FOR MOTORBOATS IS INCLUDED.
