THE AIM OF THIS ARTICLE, THE FIRST OF TWO, IS TO ENABLE THE GROUTING PROCESS TO BE FULLY UNDERSTOOD AND TO ESTABLISH THE NATURE OF THE RELATIONS BETWEEN THE TYPE OF SOIL, TYPE OF GROUT, FLOW, PRESSURE AND DURATION OF GROUTING, DIAMETER AND SPACING OF GROUTING BOREHOLES, ETC. THE FIRST ARTICLE CONSIDERS IN PARTICULAR THE THEORETICAL ASPECTS OF SOIL GROUTING PROBLEMS TAKING ACCOUNT OF PRACTICAL CONDITIONS. THE SECOND ARTICLE WILL EXAMINE THE FACTORS WHICH CAN INFLUENCE THEORETICAL CONSIDERATIONS. A CODE OF GOOD PRACTICE WILL BE OUTLINED. /LCPC/RRL/
