Mission and mix: a study of the changing tasks and staffing requirements of the California Department of Transportation
This study examines the organizational capabilities and staff skills that will be needed to execute the changing mission of the California Department of Transportation (CALTRANS). The study is specifically concerned with: the kinds of organizational capabilities that will be required to meet California's changing transportation needs; the mix of professional personnel that will be needed to execute the tasks of the future; and the personnel development strategy necessary to position caltrans for the tasks of the future.
