INFLUENCE OF CEMENT ON PROPERTIES OF SOIL-CEMENT

SOIL CEMENT CYLINDERS OF 10 DIFFERENT CEMENTS, VARYING IN TYPE, GRADING AND FINENESS, COMBINED WITH THREE DIFFERENT KINDS OF SOIL WERE USED IN THE TESTS. COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH AT DIFFERENT AGES AND RESISTANCE TO WEATHERING WERE DETERMINED. STRENGTH AND WEATHER RESISTANCE-AS HAD BEEN FORESEEN-INCREASED WITH A HIGHER CEMENT CONTENT AND WITH HIGHER CEMENT STRENGTH. NO DEFINITE EFFECT OF FINENESS WAS RECOGNIZED ON THE BASIS OF INCREASE IN CEMENT STRENGTH.
