CEMENT STABILIZATION OF GRANULAR ROAD BASE MATERIALS

A STUDY WAS MADE OF THE PROPERTIES OF A RANGE OF GRANULAR MATERIALS MIXED WITH SMALL QUANTITIES OF CEMENT. RESULTS SHOWED THAT THE COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH WAS DEPENDENT ON THE TYPE OF MATERIALS. SLAG AND WHITE LIMESTONE GAVE SUBSTANTIAL HIGHER STRENGTH THAN THE OTHER MATERIALS. RESULTS WITH THE WHITE LIMESTONE AND PORPHYRY INDICATED THAT THE GRADING OF THE MATERIAL HAD NO SIGNIFICANT EFFECT ON THE UNCONFINED COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH.
