RAILROAD PROTECT EDP CENTERS FROM DISASTER

Earthquakes, vandalism, fires, and power failures can interrupt data processing. In a survey, Railway System Controls asked the railroads how they protect their data processing centers against physical damage to equipment and data. Some railroads were reluctant to talk, but some answered. This article describes briefly the computer security measures taken by Louisville & Nashville, Seaboard Coast Line, Union Pacific, Norfolk and Western, Southern Pacific, and Southern Pacific, and Southern Railway.
