CARRIER BARGES, A NEW TYPE OF TRANSPORTATION
TRAEGERSCHIFFE, NEUE TRANSPORTSYSTEME
A review of the newly introduced containerized and propelled barges is presented, emphasizing the advantages gained over the conventional barge transportation system. These vessels almost exclusively call at ports of sufficiently efficient container-terminals, due to the size of these ships and to the required turn-around facilities and traffic connections.
