DELAYS TO PUBLIC TRANSPORT AT PEAK HOURS AT AN INTERSECTION HAVE BEEN REDUCED BY ABOUT 50 PERCENT BY MODIFYING THE PHASE ORDER OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS TO GIVE TWO GREEN PER CYCLE IN THE DIRECTION USED BY BUSES AND TRAMS; AN ADDITIONAL REDUCTION OF ABOUT 25 PERCENT IN AVERAGE TRAM DELAY HAS BEEN ACHIEVED BY EXTENDING THE TRAM GREEN WITH DETECTORS. /TEC/
