TAKING THE GLASGOW EXPERIMENT AS AN EXAMPLE, THE AUTHOR ATTEMPTS TO FIND OUT WHETHER BENEFITS CAN BE DERIVED FROM CONTROL CO-ORDINATION OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS IN A TOWN AND WHICH CONTROL SYSTEMS PRODUCE THE GREATEST BENEFIT.
