Problems encountered during the incremental launch of a post-tensioned concrete box girder bridge
The Blanchetown Bridge is a post-tensioned concrete box girder bridge, constructed by the incremental launch method. Four types of cracking, which were observed during the construction of this bridge, are described. Repairs undertaken to re-establish the structure durability and function are explained and suggestions are made to avoid similar problems occurring in bridges of this type in the future.
