Drafting and design presentation standards

This manual was initially released as the Design Management and Presentation Manual. There has been no change in the context of the chapters released to date. The manual has been developed to provide guidelines for the management of design quality in the planning and design of road infrastructure projects. It also sets the policy and drafting standards for presenting the design to provide a consistent interface with the road construction industry. Its purpose is to provide the means for designers: 1. to deliver a design fit for its intended purpose; 2. to comply with all legislative and corporate requirements; and 3. to enhance the potential for the project to be constructed in accordance with "the design" through the supply of appropriate construction information. Competent planners and designers should apply this manual in an intelligent way to tailor each design to the particular circumstances of a project. Variations from the requirements of the manual will require the appropriate approval. Selected chapters of the Drafting and Design Presentation Standards are available from the web site. The manual will be released in stages.
