Press-in piling: a solution for road construction
As aging civilizations continue their growth, there is a need to constantly expand the existing infrastructures such as road, highway and bridge. Due to environmental concerns in urban construction, many typically simple road construction projects become very complex or feasibly impossible. The introduction of relatively new concepts using press-in piling has redefined "impossible", again simplifying these projects and making them "possible". Innovations in material usage have resulted in a whole series of press-in machine called "Silent Piler", dedicated to provide construction solutions to arduous site conditions such as piling on slope of an embankment and even for hard ground condition. From a simple hydraulic jacking system that relies on reaction principle, the press-in piling has provided an effective construction solution, as applied successfully in a road widening project on a slope embankment in Hodogaya, Japan.
