Development of specifications for new pavement technology
Malaysia has seen a number of new pavement technologies being introduced over the last decade. In most instances, these technologies have been used quite extensively overseas and were adopted here for that reason. However, the Roads Branch PWD is fully aware that adaptation to the local conditions is critical for their successful implementation in Malaysia. This paper briefs the normal course of actions taken by the Roads Branch PWD in assessing new technology. It presents two recently developed specifications on hot in place recycling and semi rigid surfacing.
