INFLUENCE OF STRUCTURE OF SURFACE CONDITION AND OF ANISOTROPY OF PROPERTIES ON CORROSION RESISTANCE OF E AND 09 G2 SHIPBUILDING STEELS

Kinetics of corrosion process of these steels is analyzed from the point of view of structure, chemical heterogeneity, rolling texture surface, strain hardening and surface condition. The results obtained are of considerable technical importance because they permit the selection of the steels and the processing methods independent of their corrosion resistance, thus making it possible to evaluate the latter.
