Australia’s national road safety strategy 2001-2010
This paper provides an overview of road transport in Australia and details of road trauma since 1970. The paper discusses the reasons behind the introduction of a national road safety strategy for Australia, its focus and its implementation through road safety action plans. Progress towards achieving the goals set under the strategy is discussed.
