Interim PBS road classification guidelines

This report presents Interim Guidelines for the classification of roads into four classes which match the proposed four classes of PBS vehicles. A draft version of the PBS road classification guidelines was released in August 2003 for trial by various jurisdictions as part of this National Transport Commission Road Classification Guidelines Project. From the trial evaluation results, the Interim Guidelines in this report were prepared. The Guidelines are intended to provide a basis for making, as far as possible, objective assessments for the classification of roads for use by PBS vehicles on a nationally consistent basis.
