Better value through improving health and safety and environmental performance
Transit New Zealand is fully aware of the risks associated with road construction and maintenance. Working on the road has become an increasingly dangerous occupation and been a focus for improvement by several parties. As part of its desire to see improved safety on roadwork sites, Transit has required suppliers to be accredited by an approved independent supplier. This process follows very much the way Transit approaches the quality assurance system and a general trend to self certification on an output basis.
