THE FIRST PART OF THE ARTICLE DISCUSSES THE CAUSE OF FATIGUE, EXISTING FATIGUE THEORIES, AND SYMPTOMS AND PHASES IN THE COURSE OF FATIGUE. THE SECOND PART IS DEVOTED TO SPECIAL TRAFFIC-MEDICAL AND TRANSPORT- PSYCHOLOGICAL PROBLEMS. THE GENERAL SIGNIFICANCE OF FATIGUE FOR THE TRAFFIC PARTICIPANTS IS DISCUSSED; GENERAL FATIGUE BECOMES APPARENT AS A RESULT OF LACK OF SLEEP, WORKING-STRESS OR OVERSTRESS, AND SICKNESS. THE ARTICLE DEALS WITH THE SPECIFIC EFFECT OF FATIGUE IN ROAD TRAFFIC AND THE INFLUENCE OF MONOTONY, FOOD INTAKE, AND CERTAIN OTHER INDIVIDUAL CONDITIONS ON FATIGUE. /TRRL/
