Survey of environmental competence in Sweden’s automotive industry

Automotive Sweden has as its aim to bring together actors in the public sector in the west of Sweden to strengthen Western Sweden as an internationally competitive automotive region together with industry and the academic world. Automotive Sweden is owned and financed by, among others, BRG, Region Vaestra Goetaland, the County Administrative Board of Vaestra Goetaland and the municipalities in Sjuhaerad, Fyrbodal and Skaraborg. Business Region Goeteborg engaged KanEnergi to compile a report describing the unique competence in the environmental field that exists in the automotive industry at: suppliers, vehicle manufacturers, research and development departments and institutes and consultants. The competencies studied in this survey can roughly be summarised into the following four categories: low emissions; hybrid technology; alternative fuels; and environmentally adapted vehicle parts and accessories.
