Quality pavements require quality aggregates
Good quality, consistent aggregates are a key component in the success of any pavement. The material specification is critical in ensuring the aggregate supplier understands what is required to achieve the high level of quality and consistency that will meet all of the clients needs. This paper will discuss the variability in aggregate specifications and highlight issues which can cause confusion, along with suggestions of how good supplementary questioning of the suppliers can help to ensure the aggregate delivers the quality and consistency that is required by the client.
