DRIVER EDUCATION EVALUATION SHOWS EFFECTIVENESS OF VARIOUS PROGRAMS

THE TEXAS TRANSPORTATION INSTITUTE CONDUCTED A STUDY TO ASSESS FOUR AREAS OF PUBLIC SCHOOL DRIVER EDUCATION: (1) THE EFFECT OF PUBLIC SCHOOL DRIVER EDUCATION ON OPERATORS OF PASSENGER VEHICLES, (2) THE EFFECT OF PUBLIC SCHOOL DRIVER EDUCATION ON OPERATORS OF TWO-WHEELED VEHICLES, (3) QUALITY OF INSTRUCTION AND INSTRUCTORS DETERMINED BY SUBSEQUENT STUDENT PERFORMANCE, AND (4) DEVELOPMENT OF METHODOLOGY FOR PREDICTING THE DECISION MAKING CAPABILITIES OF VEHICLE OPERATORS IN THE TRAFFIC ENVIRONMNET. CONCLUSIONS OF THE EVALUATION STUDY ARE PRESENTED.
