Specification for a standard test tyre for friction coefficient measurement of a pavement surface: ribbed test tyre

This specification covers the general requirements for a radial-ply standard tyre for pavement skid-resistance testing. The tyre covered by this specification is only for use in evaluation of tyre/pavement friction forces. This specification also provides a standard design of certified construction and the accurate dimensions required for the determination and correlation of coefficients of friction using skid trailers and other vehicles on various pavement surfaces. It also specifies a means of storage.
