Comparison of emergent road safety strategies in Queensland
Document learnings arising from the Moreton Bay Council Road Safety Partnership Project Pilot along with its developed 5 year road safety strategy and annual action could be utilized in a further pilot or a state-wide rollout throughout Queensland. Following the success of the Moreton Bay Pilot, a number of Councils in Queensland have taken the initiative and begun their own journey in developing similar plans. As these road safety strategies are slowly introduced throughout Queensland it is interesting to compare their similarities and differences. Are they influenced by population density, is exposure an issue or perhaps their asset condition is the primary consideration? This paper explores these issues with the authors' experience at Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast and Toowoomba Regional Councils.
