Embracing the Cedar River
This article focuses on the case of the city of Waverly, Iowa and their decision to use an inflatable dam, as opposed to a levee, to provide flood protection and preserve their history. The article presents events leading up to the decision, as well as the construction of the dam itself, including design details.
