AT THE FIRST MEETING OF THE COORDINATING COMMITTEE FOR THE 1970 INTERNATIONAL AUTOMOBILE SAFETY CONFERENCES---THE FIRST OF ITS KIND SPONSORED BY PROFESSIONAL AUTOMOTIVE SOCIETIES IN VARIOUS COUNTRIES ---IT WAS DECIDED THAT THE PROCEEDINGS WOULD INCLUDE A STATE-OF-THE-ART REPORT IN EACH OF 14 MAJOR SUBJECT AREAS, ACCOMPANIED BY A COMPREHENSIVE BIBLIOGRAPHY. THE HIGHWAY SAFETY RESEARCH INSTITUTE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN UNDERTOOK THE LITERATURE SEARCH AND REVIEW IN COOPERATION WITH THE AUTHORS OF THE PAPERS. THE 5143 REFERENCES PUBLISHED HERE CULLED FROM AN ORIGINAL LISTING OF ABOUT 10,000 DOCUMENTS. SUBJECT AND AUTHOR INDEXES ARE INCLUDED. THE SUBJECT INDEX IS SUPPLEMENTED BY ALPHABETICAL AND HIERARCHICAL DISPLAYS OF THE SUBJECT DESCRIPTORS.
