AMERICANS BUYING SMALLER MODEL CARS

IF YOU ARE BUYING A NEW CAR, THE CHANCES ARE INCREASING DAILY THAT YOUR PURCHASE WILL BE ONE OF THE MANY SMALLER MODELS ON THE MARKET. ACCORDING TO DATA COLLECTED FOR THE UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN ANNUAL SURVEY OF CONSUMER FINANCE, ALL KINDS OF PEOPLE OWN ALL SIZES OF CARS; HOWEVER, YOUNG PEOPLE SEEM TO BE SETTING NEW TRENDS. IF THE FAMILY CAR IS FREQUENTLY DRIVEN BY TEENAGERS, THE CHANCES ALMOST DOUBLE (FROM 14 TO 25 PERCENT) THAT THE CAR OWNED IS AN AMERICAN COMPACT. IN THE SAME SITUATION, THE FREQUENCY OF OWNERSHIP OF A MEDIUM-SIZED CAR DROPS FROM 57 TO 34 PERCENT. THE FOREIGN ECONOMY CAR IS ALSO POPULAR AMONG THE YOUNGER GENERATION.
