ON CRITICAL SPEED RANGE OF SHIPS IN RESTRICTED WATERWAYS
Description is given of the flow phenomena which appear in a canal when a ship passes at a speed in the critical range. The additional resistance of the ship in the critical speed range has been calculated based on the foregoing considerations. Model resistance and self- propulsion tests were performed to verify the results of the theoretical calculations.
