Point of View: Dedicated Truck Lanes: An Innovative Way Forward

The concept of dedicated truck lanes emerged from the search for a new roadway design and operating model to reduce congestion, enhance safety, and align transportation networks with the needs of supply chains. The author of this article explores the design, financing, construction, and operation of dedicated truck lanes and presents the issues and problems—and the promise—of the approach.
