THE MONT-BLANC TUNNEL: CARBON MONOXIDE POLLUTION DURING 4 YEARS OF OPERATION /IN FRENCH/

THE 11.6 KM-LONG TUNNEL IS UNDER CONSTANT SURVEILLANCE AS REGARDS THE CARBON MONOXIDE CONTENT OF THE AIR BY MEANS OF NINE DECTORS INSTALLED ALONG ITS LENGTH. TABLES AND GRAPHS SHOW THE AVERAGE POLLUTION AS DETECTED BY THE DETECTORS AS A GIVEN TIME AND THE MAXIMUM DAILY POLLUTION RECORDED BY ANY OF THE DETECTORS DURING JULY AND AUGUST, THE MOST CONGESTED MONTHS. RESULTS OF MEASUREMENTS SHOW THAT THERE IS NO RISK OF EXCEEDING THE SAFETY LIMITS. /LCPC/A/TRRL/
