How to Buy Parking Lot Stencils
Although buying parking lot stencils may seem like a simple task, there are several considerations that must be addressed in choosing an appropriate and durable product. This article discusses some of these considerations. When buying parking lot stencils, there are three important things to look for: the material that the stencil is made from, the thickness of the stencil material, and the edge distances that the stencil offers. Although there are several options, the author recommends low density polyethylene plastic as the best material for stencils because of its strength and ease of cleaning. The author also prefers stencils in 60 mil (1/16 inch) and 125 mil (1/8 inch) thickness over thinner stencils because they lay completely flat on the pavement and do not flutter during spraying. They are also more durable. The edge distance feature is also known as overall height or overspray. A 3 inch edge distance offers the most strength and overspray protection. Lettering and pricing should be considered once a contractor has decided on the best material, thickness and edge distance for the stencil.
