Brazilian Standardization for ITS Architecture

The use and application of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) services have been added to everyday people. Solutions on mobility, efficient public transport, and technologies built into the vehicle improve the quality of life in big cities. The purpose of this paper is to give information about the comprehensive introduction of the national architecture. The first step of the studies commission suggests the creation of the national architecture, especially in the aspect of interoperability of solutions used for awards in several roads and highways. The type of transport services needed for standards depends on the complexity of the themes involved. Most of them will have the cooperation from a reference group which shall be a provider of experienced cities considering local solutions to public transport, authorities and industry. The national trend for the next two years shows special attention from the government in the different sectors. The initiative has focus on the cooperation of the partner organizations that use ITS in the their daily operations. The share of experience and perspectives to the future will become one component to create a unified national architecture, using ITS services, groups and domains regarding multi-modal areas related to international standardization and will certainly be one of the major themes of study worldwide. The contribution of the Brazilian Standardization for ITS Architecture experience will be an important component of the cities regarding traffic and transport systems for a long time. It provides an overview of innovations for sustainable ITS applications, a contribution to society and focus on environmental impacts.
