(A) ABSTRACT IN ENGLISH: Together with some business partners from transport companies, industry and science, the Association of German Transport Companies (VDV) has defined the project "Internet protocol based communication in the pubilc transport" (IP-KOM-OEV). The aim is to develop a modern, efficient and standardized communication structure for different sections in the public transport like vehicles, real time communication and information platforms. lt is also to develop models and communication services for customer-owned appliances. The aim of this standardization process is to provide a technical base for improved passenger information and to support transportation companies and associations on tendering procedures. The implementation and operation of modern communication structures and a reliable basis for industrial product design are as well included in this project. The development of those standards will be made in five individual operations. (A)
