IN THE FIRST OF THESE, PROPOSED FOR INSTALLATION IN THE MAIN SHOPPING CENTER OF BOSTON, MASS. U.S.A., ACCELERATION TO A MAXIMUM SPEED OF 4.3 MILE/HOUR IS ACHIEVED BY MEANS OF A SERIES OF CONVEYOR BELTS OF DIFFERENT LENGTHS.
