When Should a Transit Agency Start to Worry About its Technology Infrastructure
Transit agencies can make effective use of technology to improve operations. Indoor location systems are used to keep track of vehicles and have replaced manual sheets. That information can be integrated with maintenance, scheduling and dispatch and other functions. Providing real-time, accurate yard information makes it possible to coordinate operations.
