AUTOMATIC VEHICLE MONITORING TECHNOLOGY REVIEW

A REVIEW HAS BEEN COMPLETED OF THE INDUSTRY PROPOSALS FOR AUTOMATIC VEHICLE MONITORING (AMV) TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT WHICH WERE WRITTEN IN RESPONSE TO A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP) FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION. THIS REPORT SUMMARIZED THE STATE-OF- THE-ART AND EXPECTED PERFORMANCE FOR AMV SYSTEMS AS DERIVED FROM THE PROPOSALS. THE SALIENT ADVANTAGES, DISADVANTAGES, AND CLAIMED ACCURACIES FOR THE GENERIC TYPES OF TECHNOLOGY ARE DISCUSSED. /NTIS/
