Magnitude of the principal individual bulk cargoes, other than oil and iron ore, in world sea freight for a recent year, 1966-67, set out both by tonnage and value, is given. The bulk carrier fleet is discussed, considering total tonnage, number of vessels, capacity of vessels, age and speed of the ships, capital value, and distance of the average voyage.
