FULL SCALE VEHICLE CRASH TESTS WERE CONDUCTED TO EVALUATE A VARIETY OF VEHICLE ARRESTING, REDIRECTING, ENERGY ABSORBING, AND IMPACT ATTENUATION SYSTEMS. IN ADDITION, RESEARCH WORK WAS DONE TO ESTABLISH THE FEASIBILITY OF USING STEEL DRUMS, LIGHTWEIGHT CELLULAR CONCRETE, CORRUGATED METAL PIPE, AND CONCRETE PIPE AS ENERGY ABSORBING MATERIALS FOR SUCH VEHICLE IMPACT ATTENUATION SYSTEMS.
