Information Systems, Geographic Information Systems, and Advanced Computing 2011
This issue contains 12 papers concerned with various aspects of information systems, geographic information systems, and advanced computing as related to transportation. Specific topics discussed include the following: a traveler information tool with transit information and multimodal trip planning; an information management system for transportation right-of-way activities; a web-based analysis system for real-time decision support on arterial networks; DRIVE Net; integrating geographic information systems (GIS) and the Global Positioning System for Transportation; the analytic hierarchy process and GIS to identify optimal transit alignments; protecting location privacy; multidimensional data mining of traffic anomalies; predicting short-term traffic flow on freeways; a stereo vision-based approach to generating a dense depth map of transportation infrastructure; earthwork computation methods; and an IntelliDrive information system to enhance high-speed intersection safety.
