Developing Travel Time Estimation Algorithms in the Wireless Vehicle to Vehicle Communication Network
The multi-hopping vehicle to vehicle (v2v) communication network is critical part of the Ubiquitous Transportation Systems (UTS), which provide more seamless, accurate and reliable traffic information than existing ITS scheme. UTS includes new data collection process, dissemination technology and wireless vehicle ad hoc network technology. In this study, we proposed three new algorithms and evaluated them using AIMSUN and API programs written in C. The MAPE were used to measure the performance of the algorithms. The newly developed algorithms showed better performance than the existing algorithm. The newly developed algorithms will be applied to UVS (Ubiquitous Vehicle Sensor) as a firmware to estimate travel time of an individual vehicle.
