Rough Location of License Plate Based on Dot-Matrix Detector
License plate identification is an important method of information acquisition in intelligent transportation systems. There is, however, the difficult aspect of license plate location, which affects the accuracy of the identification. In this proposed system, a dot-matrix detector method, which is different from the traditional method of image acquisition, is used for detecting vehicle license plate location. The method saves a lot of computing time and reduces the background interference for a follow-up algorithm, and increases recognition accuracy of the system.
