Functional Modeling for an Integrated Pipeline Integrity Management System Using IDEF0 Approach
To satisfy the requirement of pipeline integrity management (PIM) in a long operational period and a large transmission distance, a comprehensive PIM system is presented, which is integrated with lifecycle management, dynamic risk management and GIS technology, and IDEF0 method is utilized to functional modeling. Four function modules - PIM preparation, PIM implementation, PIM termination and PIM_GIS data management platform are categorized according to pipeline lifecycle. PIM implementation together with PIM database based on GIS technology is emphatically analyzed in detail, which involves the process of dynamic risk evaluation. Compared with the existing PIM system, the proposed one enjoys more systematic function and better description effect.
