Development of a Standard Purchase SAM for Nationwide Interoperable Transportation Card System in Korea
A SAM is vital component in the transportation card system which is inserted in the payment terminal. As it is communicating with the transportation card, the user can have the transaction process for which they pay the transportation fare fee. As transportation card market grows, many transportation agencies start up their business with their own technique. If the transportation card and a PSAM are issued by the same company, it works well. But, in the other cases it doesn't work. Thus this paper proposes a standard PSAM based on Korea Industry Standard (KS X 6923) in the OCAP card (One Card All Pass in Korea) system which can communicate every OCAP card issued by various different transportation agencies. It makes possible that one can use any transportation service regardless areas with one card, the OCAP card.
