New MPEG-2 Compression Method for the Streaming Video Service
This paper proposes a new method of compressing/de-compressing a moving picture using an I-frame for the streaming video service, such as the advertisement of the navigation DMB and the mobile DMB. When an I-frame, in which a scene is changed, is similar to a previously used frame, the I-frame tag is compressed, instead of the I-frame, to increase the compression rate. The experiment results are compared with conventional GOP structure and the performance is good.
