A comparison of environmental impacts of hot and warm mix asphalt
Une comparaison des impacts environnementaux d'enrobes a chaud et tiedes
A study was conducted a few years ago by French public works research laboratory, LCPC, to measure energy and airborne emissions of hot-mix asphalt during a road testing campaign. This revealed a significant contribution of hot-mix asphalt to the global environmental loads of roadworks. This sort of environmental issue has only recently been investigated in the international literature through global methods, such as Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), as discussed in this article.
