A Short Guide to 60 of the Newest Urbanisms
Different ideologies and definitions are fragmenting the concept of urbanism in the United States. This article describes 60 types of urbanism that have been promoted or suggested by journalists and planners. The types can be organized into several categories relating to politics, equity, city design, green issues and urban systems. Although the urbanisms differ in definition, they are not mutually exclusive. Categorizing these types of urbanism can be useful for urban planners in identifying and solving problems of urbanization.
