Research and Development with an Aim of Creating New Customer Value and Future Stations
"Ongoing Efforts" is the name of a chapter in JR East’s April 2008 “JR East 2020 Vision —I do mu; Challenge—”. One ongoing effort described in its first section is increased heightening of customer satisfaction. Its second section includes a subsection entitled: “We will create railway stations that customers can use comfortably and without anxiety”. It explains how JR East wholeheartedly pursues customer satisfaction, aiming to use assured safety to leave customers at ease and feeling peace of mind. For heightened customer satisfaction and comfortable, anxiety free stations to be realized, research and development incorporating marketing techniques, information technology, civil and construction engineering and mechanical engineering is being conducted by JR East's Frontier Service Development Laboratory.
