ACOUSTICAL HOLOGRAPHY AS A TOOL FOR NONDESTRUCTIVE TESTING

ACOUSTICAL IMAGING BY MEANS OF HOLOGRAPHY HAS BEEN SHOWN TO BE AN EFFECTIVE MEANS FOR PRODUCING AN OPTICAL IMAGE OF AN ACOUSTICAL PRESSURE FIELD. SEVERAL APPLICATIONS ARE DESCRIBED AND RESULTS OF INITIAL INVESTIGATIONS PRESENTED. THE APPLICATIONS INCLUDE IMAGING FLAWS IN BUTT WELDS, AND VOIDS IN 4-IN.-THICK ALUMINUM OR STEEL. /AUTHOR/
